Kumiki puzzles originated in Japan in the late 1800's and feature realistic items such as animals, boats, vehicles, etc...  The first thing you have to figure out with any Kumiki style puzzle is how to take it apart. They always have a hidden key piece. Degree of difficulty on this one is moderate. Comes with clear instructions.  This Dog is featured on the cover of Jerry Slocum's book, "Puzzles Old and New.” This puzzle is relatively easy. It stays firmly together when assembled and there is even a slight trick to taking it apart. (the tail will push forward to release the pieces). The head will swivel.  The small dog measures about 7" tail to nose, 4.25" high, and 1.75" wide. There are some fragile pieces inherent in the design, so we do not recommend the small dog for under 10 yrs. The big dog measures about 9" x 6 .5" x 2.25”. The big dog is great challenge for kids ages 5-12 or a nice mantle piece for your favorite dog lover. Heavy duty construction is quite durable.

Our puzzles and games are handcrafted with care. Most are made in the USA by the Janelle family; some are crafted by friends in Canada, Japan and Mexico and some right here in Albuquerque. Be sure to ask for recommendations.

What is your shipping and returns policy?

We offer free shipping on US orders over $200, typically dispatching within 2 business days, often sooner. For items not immediately available, we'll reach out to discuss your options. Our shipments within the U.S. are primarily through USPS Priority Mail, with UPS for larger packages, aiming for a 2-4 day delivery.

For international shipping inquiries, please contact us directly. We strive for transparency in shipping costs, keeping them close to actual with a minimal handling fee.

Your satisfaction is paramount. If you’re not happy with your purchase, items in their original condition can be returned within 14 days for a refund or exchange. Contact us for return authorization and instructions.
